Minecraft is a sandbox indie game created by the Swedish Mojang Studios company. Minecraft's exact release date is May 17, 2009. The game was designed for PCs first but later appeared PS, Xbox, and even mobile versions on the product for iOS and Android. There is no need to talk about Minecraft's popularity as the game is known across the world.

What is Minecraft about

The game has no plot. This is an open-world game where you can use all your imagination to create various cubic buildings. The main character appears in various places at the beginning of each game. You will get various achievements when completing missions. Minecraft world includes 3D objects that are called Blocks. Those Blocks differ from each other by their texture, physics, and other specs. The whole gaming process turns around mining those Blocks and building constructions, which make Minecraft look like Lego.

You don't have any means of transport here. As for the NPCs, you will meet various animals, other humans, and enemies. You can interact with farmers by trading with them. Each human NPC has its profession, which influences his demand for a particular item.

During the day, you will meet friendly species like pigs, cows, and sheep. You can hunt them to get food or use them for other purposes. However, once night comes, hostile creatures appear. Spiders, zombies, and other beasts may attack you. You need to hide somewhere or fight with them.

There are three worlds in Minecraft – Overworld (the ordinary world), Nether and End. The latter is the most dangerous.

Minecraft graphics and controls

The in-game's graphics is not great, but the picture was never the main goal for the developers. They have managed to create a unique environment where graphics is not as important as the gaming process. Minecraft's system requirements are low, allowing everyone to play this game. As for the controls, you have plenty of options using keyboard/mouse combination, gamepads or tap controls, if you play the game on your mobile device.

Worth a replay?

Every time you start the game, you find yourself in a different place as all levels are randomly generated. This means that Minecraft has a very high replay value.

  • Gameplay 4
  • Controls 4
  • Replay Value 5
