Ravenfield is a first-person shooter created by Johan Hassel. The product came out in 2017. The game is available on PCs only. The game has a high level of popularity as the number of positive reviews on Steam is 24K+.

The game's plot

While there is not plot currently, Johan Hassel has promised that he is going to add some idea to Ravenfield in the future. According to the developer, more information will come later with the updates of Conquest game mode.

Ravenfield gameplay

The game includes multiple modes where you need to capture and control checkpoints and get points by killing the enemy soldiers. You will need to plan your battle in order to win. Ravenfield pays homage to those large scale battle simulators like Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefield. You will be able to control not only the manpower but various vehicles as well after gaining some spawn points.

This is a singleplayer game where you will need to manage your team against the enemy's one. Once you hit the enemy, he will drop blood splats indicating the place where combat took place. It is to mention that the game is in early access currently. New maps and weapons appear constantly. However, currently, there is no Steam Workshop integration meaning you can enjoy those multiple users' updates, including new maps, weapon types, skins, music, and many other aspects that will become available once this integration is done.

Graphics and control

Ravenfield offers funny pixelated graphics of soldiers without photo-realistic textures. Each team has their own colors (Blue and red). As for the environment, it looks pretty good as it contains textures. This combination of textured and untextured graphics makes the game looking unusual. Ravenfield was designed for PCs only, meaning you can manage your character with a keyboard and mouse.

Worth a replay?

At this stage, the game has many updates, new types of weapons and maps are added. In one month or a couple of weeks, the game may have significant changes, which adds replay value to Ravenfield.
